Our concept for the Missing Link was to have a board that would turn and perform like a short board but paddle and catch waves like long boards. We accomplished the performance part by giving it the three fin combination and modern down rails and edges. To give the Link the paddling and wave catching ability the forward portion of the template (outline) is much wider than the performance board , and the most popular sizes run in the 7'0" plus range. Once we accomplished the turning and paddling ability of the board we adjusted the bottom rocker ( bottom curve ) to have a deep entry , keeping the nose out of the water when the surfer is standing and is in the back turning part of the board.

The Missing Link (Fun Board) has foam and width under the chest to help getting into waves. Nose rocker is deeper so when you initially stand up the whole nose comes out of the water...You are done with that width anyway you just wanted it to catch waves with it. These boards are made to ride from the center back in "Performance" style surfing. Bang Boom ! you are up and ripping!
